Try picturing an open-minded gentleman, who is used to exploring new territories and crossing borders, arriving in Milan from Egypt with an eagerness to create something new and memorable in the production of neckties. Break the rules. Re-invent “the tie”. Way back in 1920 this legendary tale actually took place. John Nicky Chini, a travelling gentleman, returned to Italy after a long trip to Africa and, his eyes still carrying inside the magic of that far away land and his head still packed with ideas and projects, founded the NICKY brand which, still today, is well known and appreciated in the world of neckwear. Gradually, the Nicky style started being noticed and cherished in the European Clubhouses and the Nicky necktie itself started having its first fans and admirers also in the Clubs around the US. Gabriele D’Annunzio himself loved to wear Nicky products which he considered being elegant and magnificent at the same time.
The laboratory is now in Via Pietrasanta in Milan, where all the production takes place. Thinner mattresses cut with cutter and iron glove, cardboard dime and embroidery seated in a room still furnished with original 20’s furniture. The Nicky tie is characterized by a wide use of medium tones and craft tradition of Milan.
Every product is rigorously handmade, with methodologies that have been handed down continuously since 1920. An important historical archive houses entire historical collections.

The Nicky Knot was invented in 1952. The main advantage of this knot compared to the classic Pratt is the ease with which it is disbanded without leaving a residual node. Stylish and versatile, its size is intermediate between the Foursome and the Half Windsor. Like the Eastern Node to make the Nicky Node, you need to put the tie around the reverse neck.
